Yasmin Amir, MD is a board-certified dermatologist who practices general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She grew up in southern New Jersey. Dr. Amir attended Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in neuroscience and behavior. She then remained in New York to attend medical school at Mount Sinai Hospital.
During medical school, Dr. Amir participated in a dedicated year of dermatology research, where she worked closely with leaders in the field. She helped to conduct clinical trials for new biologic medications for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and authored several peer-reviewed publications on various dermatologic diseases. After medical school, she completed her dermatology residency training at Mount Sinai, and was chief resident in her final year. Her interests in dermatology include general medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and skin cancer detection and prevention. Dr. Amir is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and Texas Medical Association.
After completing her medical training, Dr. Amir moved to Texas with her husband, who grew up in Dallas. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
